World of Warcraft: Priest Leveling Guide

Of the various classes that are present in Warcraft, priests are of great use due to their healing abilities. In recent years there have been many changes that have been brought forward to their abilities making them more useful than before.
The skills that are possessed by Shadow priests make them highly valuable for their groups. This is due to the fact that whenever these priests perform any spells for causing damage they in turn help improving the health and mana of the other members in their group. This happens as any two spells that are placed on a target converts a certain percentage to mana and health.
One of the most interesting abilities of a shadow priest is the ability to fear targets that are around them, which cause them to quickly scurry away from the priest randomly.  This can be a great skill if you are being overwhelmed and need to run, but it should not typically be used as a form of crowd control.  Doing so will alert nearby creatures, and your group will be swarmed.  It would also be wise to understand the benefits of using macros and spell rotations to improve your efficiency.  Ultimately, it will be up to which play style works best for you.
To cause the most amount of damage as a shadow priest, they must utilize their shadow form – this form causes all shadow spells to do significantly more amount of damage, but puts the priest at a disadvantage.  While in shadow form, a priest will be unable to perform holy spells of any kind.  This can be overcome by switching in and out of shadow form, but doing so can weigh heavily on the priests mana and prove counter productive.  Some situations, however, may call for a priest to do this, depending on the desperation of the group.
Now that World of Warcraft has added the ability for a character to take on a second talent specialization, priests have become a very popular class.  Shadow priests are extremely efficient at questing and solo leveling, and holy priests are among the most popular healers for instances and raids.
Because of their ability to both perform high amounts of DPS, and their powerful healing capabilities, priests continue to be one of the most popular classes in World of Warcraft.  This makes being a priest competitive for spots in raids, and means that you have to really know how to play the class.  By being talented at this class, you will find yourself being invited on a constant basis to end game content.
