Activision Announce New James Bond Game Development

October 23rd, 2009 | by Wiiabetes Guest Blogger |

Yesterday, Activision announced their earnings report for the last quarter. Activision announced that they made billion in revenue which tolls up at a large 0 million profit for the publisher. However, the golden piece of video game news behind the announcement is a few unannounced games within the earnings report.

Pretty deep within the report, behind all the technical talk, were some hints at new Spiderman, Tony Hawk, and James Bond games that could be on the horizon. Currently the Spiderman game and the Tony Hawk game has not been confirmed, however, as for the Bond games, the president of Activision, Mike Griffth has confirmed it. Unfortunately, no other information was given out, just that is was being produced at the moment.

The current Bond game, released earlier this year, was published by Activision and it has been one of the best Bond based games to date. The game allowed players to play through the adventures in both films, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. That game was produced by Treyarch, the master minds behind a number of Call of Duty games, most likely why it managed to get so many positive video game ratings. However, no mention to whether Treyarch would be the developers behind this new game.

Nothing was also said about the storyline because currently there is now new bond film released. So really the game could go in any direction, it could follow a new story, a previous film, or possibly be a prequel for another film.

As for the other 2 games, there were rumours recently about a new Spiderman film being released wich would suggest a new game release aswell, this I look forward to. Finally, the Tony Hawk game, I don’t think is happening because with Tony Hawk: Ride being released in November, I personally don’t think they would release a new one so soon after. But who knows, we’ll have to wait a hear what comes out.
