WoW First Aid - Helping Yourself and Others
December 29th, 2009 | by Wiiabetes Guest Blogger |First Aid is one of the three secondary professions in WoW. This profession has never been much popular since it isn’t one of the profitable or the most fun professions available. Especially the better players always level up this profession because they know that every bit towards maximizing your character counts.
First Aid is usually a need for any class which doesn’t have healing abilities such as Rogues, Hunters, Mages, Warlocks, Warriors and Death Knights, even though the healing classes can also have a good use of it. First Aid plays a deciding factor during fights in Battlegrounds or in Arenas. Click here for more on First Aid Guide WoW
What actually do I need to use for First Aid?
With your First Aid skill you will be using bandages in order to heal yourself or remove a poison effect. The First Aid abilities can be used when you are damaged. As mentioned before it can be used both in PVP and PVE.
How can I apply bandages?
You are able to create bandages that will be stored in your inventory in stacks of twenty. If you want to use one of these bandages you should click on another player and then click again on one of the bandages. If you move the effect a bandage has will stop and keep in mind that if you are healing another person, he/she needs to be in range. Once applied a bandage cannot be used again on the same individual until the 60 second debuff fades. The debuff you can see is called “Recently Bandaged”. When the 60 seconds pass and a debuff disappears, a new bandage can be applied. For the best leveling guide click here: Ultimate Guide WoW
The material
Bandages are made from various types of cloth. As you progress through game and level up you will encounter different types of cloth. You can make bandages from all these types of cloth. Cloth drops from humanoids and it is the most common drop you will encounter during leveling and therefore getting your First Aid skill to the maximum won’t be a problem. If you are have already reached level 80 without training FA, two choices will be available to you - purchasing cloth on the AH or pure mob grinding. If you want to save some gold and grind the cloth you should aim for Humanoid NPCs.
How to start?
You can begin with leveling First Aid with the help of a trainer. They can also be found in the starting areas of every race. There are no requirements on training the First Aid profession, just the starting fee which is 10 copper. First you will need linen cloth to make in order to make linen bandages and by making these you will be able to reach level 75. After that the next skill is 150, then 225 and so on. The First Aid trainers later on could be found in any capital city. If a certain trainer cannot teach you the desired skill, he will direct you any other appropriate trainer for that skill level.
Is there any First Aid quest available?
Yes, there is. The quest Triage should be completed if you want to be an Apprentice in First Aid. Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen will ask to save 15 of his patients by using special Triage Bandages he will provide you with. The quest for the Alliance players can be found in Theramore, while the quest for the Horde players can be found in Hammerfall.
